Optimisation of processes and procedures

Development of ISO-compliant processes including procedural and service instructions together with the involved employees for all important core processes and also supporting processes including integration into the ERP system.

Modern production system

Strategy development “modern” production system for individualised one-off production according to modern production principles such as KAIZEN and OPF to ensure competitiveness in the market.

Practical and individualised training

To ensure the implementation of the new processes, training of those involved, as well as selective telephone and sales training to increase customer satisfaction and sales strength.

Dealers and manufacturers from low-wage countries are entering the market with different quality demands and price levels, and the influences of a completed succession situation also had to be solved and, as a result, the demanding processes in the development, production and distribution of the products had to be optimised.

Problem definition


By actively integrating the management and all employees, suppliers and service providers concerned, it was possible to find practical solutions for Köppl and to install and document them together with the team. The conditions were created on one hand for these solutions to function sustainably. On the other hand to gain a very positive momentum through the responsible department heads and the company management.

For four generations, Köppl GmbH has been developing and manufacturing power tools, machines and attachments. These are used in agriculture and forestry, gardening and landscaping and municipal management. With its range of equipment, Köppl provides optimally matched machines and attachments. They have been developed to technical perfection and with great attention to detail. All in all, Köppl offers powerful, indestructible helpers that provide the customer with maximum comfort and the highest level of safety. Except for the motors, every part comes from their own development and production. Köppl knows the tough requirements of its customers and gears its products accordingly. That’s why the customer will find equipment from compact all-rounders to robust powerhouses for every application in the range. As individual as their machines and attachments are in all their variants, as complex and demanding are the procedures and processes required for development, production and sales in the traditional company. The firm has been very successfully active on the market since 1896. Moreover, traders and manufacturers from low-wage countries with different quality demands and price levels are pushing their way onto the market. Also the influences of a completed succession situation had to be resolved. In order to solve these issues and also to be able to meet the challenges of the future, the company must constantly work on its processes. In order to do justice to this important task even better and not only to represent the internal view, the owners of Köppl decided to entrust Dipl.-Ing. Reinhold Wanner from Wanner GmbH with the support of these important tasks.
